Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome
(HAVS)
The Control of Vibration at Work
Regulations
require that workers exposed to signification hazards from
work-related hand arm vibration undergone prescribed health
surveillance.
This comprises at tiered approach with an initial health
assessment and thereafter regular annual health assessments by questionnaires. Those workers
with possible symptoms of Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) must undergo more detailed health
assessment by an occupational health nurse (Tier 3) or referral to an occupational physician
(Tier 4) or in cases of diagnostic difficulty for specialist testing (Tier
5).
WellWork’s Regional Service Centres can arrange health surveillance with
referral to our well equipped clinics for Tier 4 or Tier 5
assessments.
