
What is WellWork Occupational Health ?
WellWork are a leading provider
of Occupational Health throughout the UK. We employee professionally qualified and
experienced Occupational Health Advisors (OHA) and Occupational Health Physicians (OHP). Our role is to provide independent
and impartial advice to both employers and employees. This advice is aimed at assisting employers and employees in the management of all
health issues that may have an impact at work.
Why does my company need an occupational health service
?
There are a number of benefits to having an
occupational health service, which include; Increased productivity, through effective sickness
absence management and wellbeing strategies. Independent advice in relation to rehabilitation and
the early return of staff to the workplace
following short term or prolonged sickness or injury. Reduced costs associated with sickness
absence, litigation and insurance. Selection
of the right employee for the right job resulting in reduced turnover rates and recruitment costs.
There is also health and safety legislation and statutes that must be followed.by employers. There is a requirement that employers educate and
protect their employees against any
potential workplace hazards. Other legislation that the occupational health service takes in to
account is Equality At Work Act 2010
which now encompasses the Disability Discrimination Act
How can I start using your Occupational Health Service?
WellWork Ltd has a number

What
will be included in my final report?
WellWork Ltd holds
all occupational health medical records and information gained at any consultation in strict
medical confidence in line
with current legislation which includes for example, The Access to Medical Records Act 1988 and the
Data Protection Act 1998.
Occupational Health reports and recommendations
made to the employer will be in general terms only. For example this may include the
likely length of sickness absence, the day to day affects of any permanent or short term illness
and any restrictions to be considered in
the employee in undertaking their normal role. We will make
recommendations that will assist the employee in returning to or maintaining
their attendance at work.
While
seeking your consent for assessment the areas that may be included in a report to your manager
will be discussed in detail. In
general this may include the likely length of absence, the day-to-day effect of any permanent or short-term
disability and possibly advice
on restrictions to normal duties which may assist you in maintaining attendance or help in your
rehabilitation and earlier return to work.
What if I can’t make the allocated appointment?
If you are unable to attend an appointment and would like to
re-arrange a convenient time please inform your employer, they will call
WellWork on your behalf and arrange an alternative date.
What will happen if I do not attend my appointment?
If you have been given an appointment date and you do not attend
(without calling to arrange an alternative appointment) your employer
will be charged in full.
Do I receive a copy of the completed report that is sent to my employer?
WellWork Ltd do offer every client the opportunity to receive a copy of the report
that will be sent to the employer. This will be discussed
during the initial consultation.
I have been asked to bring proof of identity. What identity cards are acceptable?
We require a photo card to ensure that the correct person is attending the appointment. Suitable ID cards include a passport, driving licence, railway work permit pass, international ID cards, CIS card, firearm certificate or Work ID card.
Changing an Appointment.
Any amendments to apppointment times must be arranged through the manager or company who made the booking, i.e the bill payer. WellWork reserve the right to refuse to see the clients who arrive late or do not have an appointment, as this impacts other clients. We always strive to see late arrivals, but the employee will have to wait until there is a gap in the appointments. Cancellations and amendements of less than one clear working day before the booking will be subject to the full charge of the appointment.
